For over 40 years, water resources planning and permitting has absorbed my professional and academic pursuits. Water dependent activities (boating, fishing and waterfowl hunting) have been the focus of my recreational pursuits. I bring an integrated perspective to the water planning and permitting processes having served as a regulator, planner and environmental advocate. This experience has enabled me to see potential impediments to proposed projects and craft successful solutions to achieving successful outcomes.
Mike has 43 years of diverse professional experience finding innovative solutions and successfully completing water resources studies, NEPA evaluations, biological evaluations, biological and water quality monitoring, natural resource plans, infrastructure permitting, and water resource development in the western United States:
• Municipal and Agricultural Water Supply Planning, Evaluation and Alternative Analysis
• Infrastructure Permitting for Water Supply, Energy, Land Development Projects
• NEPA Analysis for Dams, Highways, Water Supply, Wastewater Projects

I help clients define and refine their water supply needs. Sometimes an adequate solution is the simplest, less costly and environmentally sensitive option. I seek a cooperative, collaborative partnership with my clients based upon mutual respect and trust.
There are projects that the short time capital costs may exceed the long term operation costs or where increased capital costs may shorten the permitting schedule and permitting cost. I look at all aspects of the project and provide well reasoned alternatives considering your schedule and cost constraints.
There are lots of environmental consultants practicing in this region. After a long and successful career, I have decided to help clients on a part time basis to keep active in my field while allowing more time to spend with my wife and pursue recreational interests. However, clients will always be a priority and I will strive to balance my professional workload wth other activities!
Honesty: When it comes to environmental permitting there are occasional hurdles (large and smaill) that have to be negotiated. I do not shade the truth and will give you my best professioanl opinion. There are times that I am not in the "Good News" business but I will give you reasonable options to achieve success.
Competence: I have been a regulator, a consultant and an environmental advocate. I know how the regulatory system works and hoe to avoid permitting pitfalls.
Diligence: I do my homework, understand the regulations and guidance and if a subject is outside my wheelhouse I recommend other trusted professionals who can help us achieve successful outcomes. If I take on a project, that becomes my priority before everything except family!
Value: My fees are very reasonable and I am commited to providing you with the best service possible. Your complete satisfaction is my goal.
